To be able to pen this book to trace the background to my rich spiritual heritage is an honor and joy. I can readily confirm the words of David in Psalm 16:6 (NKJ), “The lines have fallen to me (and my family) in heavenly places; Yes, I have a good heritage.” I recognize this heritage which goes back to the early days of The Salvation Army because my great-grandfather found the Lord at a New Year’s Eve service at the Clapton Congress Hall in London, England. William Ward or “Dad” Ward as he was affectionately called died before I was born but I recall my grandmother, who was an Army officer in its early days, and my mother in particular often speaking of this Godly man.
