During my several years of experience as a music therapist and university educator, I have worked with many wonderful and exceptional individuals, both young and old. Yet, I can think of no one to whom these Bible verses better apply, no one whose heart is as desirous and ready to sing and play, before God, and no one who so eagerly means to ‘wake the dawn’ with his muse-his thoughts, his ponderings, his meditations-than Tyrone Brown. Tyrone Brown lives with his family in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. Tyrone, who is fourteen years of age at this writing, has dyspraxia, a neurologically based disorder that impedes the processes involving motor-planning and motor movement actions, including those actions necessary for the production of speech. Although Tyrone is unable to speak the words that he so beautifully and creatively shapes within the labyrinths of his thoughts, his words can and are transmitted to the outside world via his excellent communicative skills on the computer.
