Description

Author Peter Lanosky has a passion for Canadian history that is reflected in his book Barbed Wire, Black Flies, 55oF Below. He was born in Iroquois Falls, Ontario – a short distance from the town of Monteith. He moved west after graduation from Carleton University and spent several decades pursuing his business career in the natural resource sector in British Columbia and Alberta. He has now shifted his focus from making paper to writing on paper. He lives at picturesque Bridge Lake in the Cariboo Regional District in BC with his wife Bonnie.

This lively book will rekindle memories of a turbulent era. Peter Lanosky has skilfully brought to light a long neglected and very necessary chapter in Canadian domestic wartime history, where fear and preparation came to every doorstep of every home and into every kitchen and child’s bedroom. Peter has filled a great vacuum in our military past. Perhaps this book will become one of many to be published that chronicle how wartime came to every household, town and village and how it touches each of us. Bill Allan, Iroquois Falls resident and local historian
