This is my first book, but it is not my first experience of writing. Several years ago, at a family gathering, one of my sisters read a short story to the rest of us. I sat, captivated, riveted with suspense to the end. As she finished, my sister handed me the page with the words, “You wrote this in grade 11”. I had forgotten. Years after that story was written, I was living a life that was deeply challenging on many levels. During those years, writing became a way of preserving any sense of a sound mind. The story of that life is contained within these pages.
