Description

Gerry Montgomery’s zest for life shines through in her memoir, a collection of mostly joyful memories captured in prose and poetry. Born on a farm near Weyburn, Saskatchewan, in 1925, Gerry grew up during the Dirty Thirties, started her first full-time job when she was just 15, and reluctantly retired at the age of 83. Along the way, she became a popular radio show host and a successful entrepreneur; a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; a passionate traveller; and a wholehearted contributor to community life. She left Saskatchewan many years ago for the mountain town of Kimberley in southeastern BC, but at heart Gerry will always be the wide-eyed, exuberant girl who began her walk in life on a Prairie farm.
