Description
I had never heard the term “Post Traumatic Stress” or P.T.S. until some of our Canadian troops came home from the war in Afghanistan. This is probably what the veterans of WWII called “shell shock” or “bomb whacky.” I never thought much about it — there was even a time when it went through my thoughts that maybe it was a lot of hogwash and some of these guys were trying to pull a fast one. Well, 60 years after being discharged because of war wounds, I had to have a war-related operation on my leg, and something happened to me when I was recuperating that I couldn’t explain. It was just terrible.
