Description
Recovery. At the time of this writing, the term ‘Recovery’ has become the new buzzword to describe the long, arduous, often painful or dangerous journey of living with mental illness. At one time, the term recovery was reserved for people with substance abuse or other addictive distractions from their intolerably painful inner lives. The term brings hope that one can recover and reclaim a safer, more meaningful life, usually through bonding with others who have been in those same dark places and found their way out, and from connecting with a power greater than, and outside of, themselves.
