I was a less than an ordinary Joe in high school. My marks were below average. I was not interested in most courses except social studies, in my senior year. My interest originated from my dad. He taught me to always be aware of the world around you. He was a wonderful man, my dad. He could talk about any issue. My dad was like a walking Wikipedia ™. He studied world news by reading multiple newspapers, magazines, and watched investigative reports. Copies of Time, Newsweek were always on our coffee table. Every Sunday morning after church, we would watch “Meet the Press” ™ on NBC™. He would have a running argument with the TV. He had a blue collar job and an incredibly sharp mind. You could ask my dad about any topic from sports to politics and he could give you detailed answers.
