Description

Born in the UK, Kevin has lived half of his life (so far) in the UK and half in Canada, with a year’s sojourn in Hong Kong. Educated at a local Grammar School he went into industry in one of the local steelworks, having flunked the Royal Air Force interview, as a Work Study Officer (known as Industrial Engineering in North America). He has worked in a variety of industries such as steel, tobacco, frozen food, DIY products, metal fabrication, breakfast cereals and rail car manufacturing. As a consultant he has worked for electrical generation companies, including several nuclear facilities, meat packers, government services, door manufacturers, office suppliers, architects, paper manufacturers, precision engineering and funeral homes. His one previous publication is ISO 9001: A Practical Quality Manual, based on his experiences of assisting companies in three countries to become certified to the ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Standard and published by the American Society for Quality. Throughout all of this he has collected a large repertoire of anecdotes, some humourous, some serious, some with practical lessons to be learned and some that are definitely stamped ‘Do Not Try This At Home’. Interspersed with his life story is a collection of the most memorable.
