When the group from Bethany Baptist Fellowship Chapel in Mississauga, Ontario volunteered to help their missionaries in Honduras build a new church, they were surprised by the current structure’s simple design. There were no pews. Only logs with rough patches and knots. No support for their weary backs. Andy looked at the row of boys and girls sitting straight-backed in front of him. Just like them, Andy had been trained at an early age to be still and silent during the sermon. Today, he was drawing from the deepest reservoir of self-control to focus on the sermon – translated into English for the benefit of the North American groups.
