When one reads this book, there are many factors one must keep in mind. Who recorded the past events? Was it someone who was present at the time? Was it someone who remembered stories that their ancestors told them? Was it someone who had read previous earlier histories or accounts and brought parts of it into their retelling of events? Were the stories coloured by the biases that the writer or speaker may have had? Did the writer put a certain slant on the events to suit some nefarious purpose?
