This a true story as written from actual accounts in Norm’s diaries. A single parent of three healthy boys, Norm exposes the boys to a way of life and adventure shared by few.
The story begins upon meeting the owner of a wilderness retreat on beautiful Tatuk Lake in Central B.C. and a close friendship evolves. Norm and his sons take on the challenge of developing the 800 sq. Mile trap line spending summers cutting trail and living in the wilderness.
Trapping of wild fur-bearers and capture of live fisher for transplant to the state of Oregon as well as live capture of lynx for fur farms lead to many exciting and risky moments.
Breakdowns and trouble on lake ice leading to many 15 mile walks get to be routine. To keep the adrenaline pumping, Norm gets charged by a grizzly bear, not just once, but twice while being a little careless. Then one day a genie appears and grants a wish. Goldie arrives and life gets more interesting. Tragically Norm’s friend passes away and life takes on a new twist. Big plans are ahead which take Norm on a path he could never have imagined.
