Description

She was the kind of nurse that everyone would like to have if they are unfortunate enough to need one. Aging gracefully, the caring and capable Mrs. Hill had seen much in her 26 years on the job. This morning was no different than the thousands before, dutifully performing her regular early morning rounds checking in on her patients. She was almost done the rounds and not looking forward to her next task, Nurse Hill usually saved this patient until last. As she had done for many years, Nurse Hill took a deep breath to calm herself as she approached this particular patient’s large closed door. The passing of time had not seemed to make it any easier to check in on him. His was a particularly sad story, one which caused her to ask many questions and sparked the occasional debate amongst her colleagues. She touched the cold metal handle and pushed open the heavy door with her shoulder.
